Our Skin Cancer Services Include:

Our Services Include:

  • Yearly Skin Exams: The cornerstone of early detection and vital for everyone, regardless of risk factors. During this comprehensive exam, our experienced providers will meticulously examine your skin from head to toe, paying particular attention to areas most susceptible to sun damage. We’ll also discuss any moles or lesions you may have and address any concerns you might have about your skin health.
  • Biopsies & Lesion Checks: If a suspicious spot is found during your skin exam or if you have a concerning mole, we may recommend a biopsy. This simple procedure involves taking a small skin sample for analysis under a microscope. A biopsy is the most accurate way to determine whether a lesion is cancerous.
  • Cryotherapy & Topical Chemotherapy: These are two effective treatment options often used for pre-cancerous growths or early-stage skin cancers.
    • Cryotherapy: This minimally invasive procedure involves freezing cancerous cells with liquid nitrogen. The extreme cold destroys the abnormal tissue. Cryotherapy is often used for superficial skin cancers and may be used on the face, hands, and other sensitive areas.
    • Topical Chemotherapy: This treatment involves applying medicated creams directly to the skin to target and destroy cancer cells. Topical chemotherapy is a good option for certain types of pre-cancers and may be used in conjunction with other treatments.
  • Red/Blue Light Therapy: This non-invasive therapy utilizes specific wavelengths of light to treat pre-cancers and certain early-stage skin cancers. During treatment, a light source is directed at the affected area. The light triggers a reaction within the cells, leading to their destruction. Red light therapy is often used for actinic keratosis, a precancerous condition. Blue light therapy may be used for basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer.
  • Mohs Surgery: Ideal for skin cancers on sensitive areas like the face, ears, or genitals, or those with a higher risk of recurrence. Mohs surgery is a specialized technique that offers the highest cure rate while minimizing the amount of healthy tissue removed. During Mohs surgery, thin layers of tissue are removed one at a time, and each layer is examined microscopically until all cancerous cells are removed. This precise approach helps ensure complete removal of the cancer while preserving surrounding healthy tissue.
  • Xoft Radiation Therapy: A form of targeted radiation therapy that delivers a precise dose of radiation directly to the cancer cells. Xoft radiation therapy is a non-invasive treatment option that minimizes damage to surrounding healthy tissues. This may be an option for specific cases of skin cancer, such as basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma, especially for patients who are not ideal candidates for surgery.
